Speaking & Listening
Lesson 1- Poetry On The Radio
This week you are to choice a poem that you have written during your poetry classes and record it for the Kids FM using audacity. The name of the program will be called ‘Under The Poet Tree’
You will need to do the following;
1. Introduce yourself and the program eg. ‘Hi my name is Ash and your about to listen to another episode of ‘Under The Poet Tree’. This poem is called Scrumptious and it’s about my favourite food ‘Chicken Wings!’
2. Read the Poem and make sure you read it with plenty of expression and with rhythm. Your voice needs to be clead and you need to pace yourself.
3. Listen to it. Is it the best you can do? If not rerecord it again as it will be broadcast to the public!
4. Conclude your program eg. ‘Well I hope you enjoyed my poem. Maybe it has inspired you to cook! Bye Bye for now!
5. Add some soft music or sound effects in the background. Make sure that it doesn’t distract from the words being read. Also make sure the music is appropriate – A poem about Daisies probably shouldn’t have linkin park in the background.... or should it?
6. Publish it as an MP3 and save it into Student Shared – Kids FM – Under The Poet Tree (Someone will have to create that folder!)
